Whitewashed, in the pines.
Limestone steps, terracotta floors, white walls. Four apartments share the building; the pines arrive at the door.
Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a generous terrace, and a private rooftop solarium with a view straight to the Gulf of Gallipoli. One of four very similar units inside a single property buried in a coastal pine forest.
The apartment occupies the top floor of the villa. The living room opens onto a long covered terrace; from there a flight of limestone steps takes you up to the rooftop solarium: loungers, a low table, outdoor working and living space, and the sea on the horizon. The kitchen is fully equipped (we cook here a lot ourselves). Bedrooms for up to 6 people: 1 master for 2, the other accommodates up to 4; both bathrooms have walk-in showers. There's a small private garden on the ground floor and an outdoor shower for coming back from the beach.
Three other very similar units exist on the same property, but everyone has lots of privacy. You'll share the common entrance, the parking, and a little of the pine forest.
The decoration is all local: a fico d'india luminaria on the living-room wall — a back-lit prickly-pear, drawn from Salento's carved festa light-frames raised for Sant'Oronzo and Maria SS. de Finibus Terrae. Hand-painted plates and tiles from Grottaglie. A pumo or two in the corners — the small bulb-shaped Apulian ornament that means welcome and a bit of luck.

Cool sheets, ceiling fans on top of the air conditioning, dark shutters for the noon nap.
For long lunches in the shade. The pergola is hand-built; the table seats six comfortably, eight if you're friendly.
Rates depend on the season — June and September are gentle, July and August fill quickly. Tell us your dates and we'll come back with availability and a price.
