We are Daniela (born and raised in Nardò) and Sylvain (French, lived in the UK and in Italy since 2006), married since 2008 and parents of three boys.
We've travelled many places — as a couple, as a family, as individuals or for work — and tried to bring home the best ideas to build our summer place. We want our home to be your home away from home during your stay.

Pinetamare Azur — the name is the place.
Pinetamare = pineta (pine forest) + mare (sea). Azur = the deep blue of the sky and water above the property. We didn't go looking for a brand; we already had a place to describe, and the description was the name.
The property is a single house buried in a coastal pine forest above Santa Caterina di Nardò, on the Ionian side of Salento. Four very similar apartments share the building; the one we let out is the rooftop unit, with the long covered terrace and the private solarium. The beach is 300 m down a footpath, and the regional park of Porto Selvaggio is on the doorstep — old growth Aleppo pines, limestone cliffs, coves where the water is colder than the rest of the gulf.
A few things, on principle.
We don't run this like a hotel. We answer messages ourselves. We pick up the keys ourselves when we can. If something breaks, we fix it the same day or, if we can't, we tell you the truth.
The apartment is cleaned thoroughly between stays. The linen is real, the kitchen is full, the Wi-Fi is fast, the sea is right there. Buon viaggio, and write to us if you have a question — we'd rather answer one before you book than three after.
